SUI Life Collective is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Our Standards

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility guidelines across our website. This includes:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • Alt text for all meaningful images
  • Sufficient color contrast ratios
  • Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements
  • Clear and consistent navigation
  • Resizable text that remains functional at 200% zoom
  • Form labels and error messages that are clear and descriptive

What We've Done

  • Used semantic HTML5 elements throughout the site
  • Ensured all images have descriptive alt text
  • Maintained a logical heading order (h1 → h2 → h3) on every page
  • Designed forms with proper labels, error states, and keyboard support
  • Self-hosted fonts to avoid render-blocking and improve performance
  • Added per-page SEO metadata for screen readers and search engines
  • Provided a custom 404 page that is easy to navigate away from

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some accessibility limitations may exist:

  • Third-party content: Some content linked from our site (Partner Toolkit resources, external websites) may not be fully accessible. We strive to choose accessible partners but cannot guarantee their compliance.
  • The River markdown content: River posts use Markdown formatting. While we sanitize content for security, complex formatting may not always render optimally for all assistive technologies.
  • Interactive maps: The Global Voice Map uses visual geographic data that may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide alternative text descriptions where possible.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We are committed to:

  • Testing new features with keyboard-only navigation before deployment
  • Running automated accessibility audits on code changes
  • Responding to accessibility feedback within 5 business days
  • Remediating identified barriers within 30 days when feasible
